In athletic events, if one player does something wrong (e.g. drops an easy fly ball in the bottom of the ninth inning, allowing two runs to score and his team to lose), is it fair for his whole team to be punished for it (i.e, lose the game)?

I believe that it is fair for the whole team to be punished when one person does something wrong in a game. When a person becomes part of a team, he or she becomes accountable for the actions the person performs because it affects the whole team. Teams are supposed to stick together no matter what. This is why people train hard to be the best they can be. When I play Ultimate Frisbee with a group of friends we split into two teams.

The two team captains typically choose the best players first, because they know they will not be let down. This is why one must train well to be the best they can be so that people will have faith in them.
